Our Safety Mission
We recognise that the health and safety of our employees is of paramount importance both in social and economic terms. We believe we are successful only if everything we do is achieved without harm to people, the environment or property.
Our Safety Statement is the foundation of our safety management system and it sets the framework for establishing safe systems of work and safe working practices across our organisation and in the services we provide to our clients.
Our target "Zero Accidents-Zero Harm" - safe and healthy in all we do" is actively pursued by management and employees at all levels within the organisation. To reach this target we strive to:
- Maintain a proactive approach to health and safety management within our workplaces
- Develop and train our employee to work safely and take individual responsibility for ensuring safety compliance
- Assess hazards in the workplace and take effective measures to eliminate risks
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all
- Maintain a positive safety culture where safety is recognised and accepted as part of our work ethos
- Use the Near Miss Reporting System to identify situations and conditions that can be eliminated or improved upon to prevent the risk of an accident occurring
National Irish Safety Organisation Awards 2011
At the NISO Awards on October 7th 2011 Veolia Water was presented with the "Highly Commended Award". Caroline McGee, Health and Safety Manager accepted the award on behalf of the company. The award is assigned under the "Prestigious Award Category" and is presented to companies who have demonstrated the existence of a health and safety management system that has been tailored to the needs of the organisation and have provided substantial documentary evidence of a proactive system for continuous review and improvement.
